Overwhelmed

There are moments when we feel that everything is just the way it should be…

Yet in the next instant we feel so overwhelmed with everything that even a random activity seems too much to handle (and yes, there are times when even replying to a text message of a close friend asking “How are you?” is too much to ask).

There comes this feeling that we don’t have enough time for everything that we are supposed to do. In this pensive state it seems that there are too many thoughts in our mind and we don’t know which one should we deal with first.

We know there were times when we could do waaay more things in a single day but now we choose not to. Our pace is slower. We think less, do less and we need less.

“Less is more” they say…

And sometimes when we are feeling overwhelmed the best thing we can do is to get a good night sleep!

  1. Reading your post, it makes me think of childhood. Sometimes I wish I were a child again, back to when I didn’t have a cellphone. Nobody to reply to, no unread text messages waiting for me. A slower pace is nice. And so is a good night’s sleep. 🙂

  2. This is brilliant and so true. Nobody reflects on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep. But I will let you know that there is one day that still sits in my memory that will challenge that statement. After my last track meet of the 2014 Outdoor Track season, I slept so comfortably I still think of it from time to time.

On another note, I completely agree that life can quickly become overwhelming. I’m starting college soon, as you know. And I want to do everything! Join lots of clubs, have a part-time job, hangout with friends, blog, and the list goes on for wayy too long. I think you’re right. Less might just be more. But I will surely keep myself reasonably busy during the semester. Thanks for sharing!
